Start your bucket list on the “Gateway to the Gyp Hills” located in Medicine Lodge. Head down the Gypsum Hills Scenic Byway with beautiful red hills. Here you will find plenty of attractions to keep you on your toes, such as the Medicine Lodge Stockade Museum, exploring the history of the Smith Log Cabin, the 1884 Bank Robbery, Chief Charlie Little Coyote, and the home of an 8 Wonder of Kansas, Carry Nation.
The McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation offers a chance to explore natural history, sports memorabilia and even a skeleton from a saber-toothed cat. Catch a movie or live performance at the McPherson Opera House and hop on the trolley, the perfect way to explore the city.
Next to McPherson, you can find a herd of 200 bison in Canton. Check out the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge and take the tram tour to witness bison and elk in all seasons.
Kechi is a small city outside Wichita where you can try new experiences. Take a glass-blowing class at Karg Art Glass and create beautiful pieces. Check out Elderslie Farm, where you can meet the cutest goats and pick blackberries, then head over to Elderslie Creamery to purchase cheese from the goats.
Travel beneath the Ellinwood Emporium and dive into underground tunnels. Discover an underground barber shop, saloon and other historic finds. Catch a comedy show, join in on a murder mystery dinner, and even prove your problem-solving skills at The Slammer Escape Room. There is so much to discover in this city.
